Brotherhood Collection

Welcome to the first post on Dedication Still Makes The Difference! For the first post I thought it would be appropriate to start with the band that inspired the name, Brotherhood. Brotherhood was the band that actually started me collecting records.

So this is my collection to date, I now finally have a complete Words Run collection (except for the Test Press of course). Pictured above is as follows;

Brotherhood – Demo (White Cover)
Brotherhood – Demo (Yellow Cover)
Brotherhood – No Tolerance For Ignorance (Fuck Racism Cover, Clear Blue)
Brotherhood – No Tolerance For Ignorance (Fuck Racism Cover, Clear Red)
Brotherhood – No Tolerance For Ignorance (Tattoo Cover, ‘Brotherhood’ screened in Blue,
Clear Red)
Brotherhood – No Tolerance For Ignorance (Live Photo Red Cover, Clear Red)
Brotherhood – Words Run… As Thick As Blood (1st press, Solid Green /??)
Brotherhood – Words Run… As Thick As Blood (1st press, Green /273)
Brotherhood – Words Run… As Thick As Blood (1st press, Black /807)
Brotherhood – Words Run… As Thick As Blood (2nd press, Pink /375)
Brotherhood – Words Run… As Thick As Blood (2nd press, Black/Purple /52, 1st press cover)
Brotherhood – Words Run… As Thick As Blood (2nd press, Black/Purple /52)
Brotherhood – Words Run… As Thick As Blood (2nd press, Black /1569)
Brotherhood – Words Run… As Thick As Blood (3rd press, White, w/ poster /320)
Brotherhood – Words Run… As Thick As Blood (3rd press, Black, w/ poster /1523)
Brotherhood – Words Run… As Thick As Blood (3rd press, Black, Silk Screen Sleeve /101)

and I thought I would add in these comps

A Generation of Hope (1st press, Purple)
A Generation of Hope (1st press)
A Generation of Hope (2nd press, Alt Cover)

So here are two different copies of the Brotherhood 'Brotherhood of Friends' Demo. Unfortunately I'm not sure of the storey behind these, but if anyone knows please let me know. There is also a demo tape before this one with John White on vocals before Ron was in the  band, definitely need to get my hands on a copy of this!

Man i love all the Brotherhood artwork! So here we have the standard No Tolerance with the Fuck Racism sleeve on blue vinyl. This is the 1st press on apparently around 500. Next is the Fuck Racism cover but on red vinyl. The story behind this is apparently the band had left over covers from the 1st press and used about 40 of these on the 2nd press red vinyl to send out   with the mail orders.

Next up is the super rare alternate or tattoo cover. Now there are actual a few variations of this, my one has 'BROTHERHOOD No Tolerance For Ignorance' screened directly on the cover  and does not come with an insert. There are also at least 3 other variations that have a separate acetate sleeve with 'BROTHERHOOD No Tolerance For Ignorance' screened on the acetate sleeve either in blue, red or yellow and these come with inserts. There is also one variation i have seen that has not writing, but it is possible that the acetate is just missing. Now apparently there was meant to be about 40 of these in total, but it seems that Ron from Brotherhood seems to remember it being more around 25 or so, which would make each variation of this quite hard to come by. (but i WILL have them all one day lol)

The last one is the standard 2nd press, red cover with live photo and red vinyl out of 1000.

Another one of my pride and joys, Brotherhood - Words Run... As Thick As Blood on Solid Green! Now there are only a hand full of these according to Crucial Response pressing info. Unfortunately this is a pretty bad photo but this is a really solid and nice looking green. As you can tell in the photo there is a huge difference between the one on the right and left but i have also seen copies that look like solid green until you hold them up to the light and you can actually still see through it.

Photo above shows the differences in pressings on the spine of the records, 1st press white,  2nd press black and 3rd press black with white writing.

Here is the progression of the inserts, 1st press on the left, 2nd in the middle and 3rd press on the right. The 3rd press is the only one with lyrics on it. First and second presses have lyrics   printed on the back cover or the record, as pictured below.

Hope you enjoyed reading, hopefully much more to come soon so stay posted!
